The majority of our new and used saddles are available to view and buy online, so it gives our customers a good idea of the stock that we have.

All of our second hand saddles have undergone an eight point check to ensure they are safe, fit for purpose and of the quality you'd expect. You can find out more information on the quality and specifications of second hand saddles here.

We do accept trade ins of good quality English leather saddles.  We do not buy second hand synthetic saddles. If you'd like a valuation of your saddle you can submit photos and information on our online trade in form.

Saddle fitting service

We always recommend that saddles are fitted by a reputable saddle fitter. Our Master Saddle Fitter takes saddle fits by appointment only, but times can be fairly flexible and appointments can generally be arranged within 3-5 days. We also accommodate late night saddle fittings up to 7pm on Wednesday evenings.

For overseas customers and those who cannot attend an onsite saddle fit, Robert is happy to provide advice via phone and email. This has been a popular method for many of our customers, and Robert has advised customers from all over the world including Indonesia, the United States and Cyprus.

Typically during a saddle fit with Robert, he will first take a look at the horse to establish what type and size of saddle will fit the horse. He will then discuss the rider’s budget, discipline and experience to get an idea of which saddles may suit both the horse and rider.

Before fitting saddles to the horse, the rider will sit in the saddles on a purpose built saddle horse to ensure the saddle fits the rider correctly. The saddles are then taken to the horse to assess which of these fit the horse best.

When Robert is pleased with the fit of the selected saddles to the horse and rider, the rider can then try out the saddles in our purpose built sand ménage to get a real feel for the saddle and evaluate which saddles they prefer.

When checking an existing saddle, Robert will first evaluate the saddle in terms of safety - evaluating the stitching, durability of girth straps and stirrup bars and finally checking the tree and panel of the saddle.

Any repairs or adjustments to saddles can be carried out in our workshop on site, and if they cannot be finished that day we can post the saddle back out to you for your convenience.
